Actor Heath Ledger's Brooklyn Bar Opens

Heath Ledger's bar, Five Leaves, in the Brooklyn borough of New York City is set to open on Wednesday, almost eight months after the actor's untimely death. "It's all meant to be a super casual California- and Australia-tinged cafe, coffeehouse and oyster bar, with greenmarket snacks," a critic for UrbanDaddy.com wrote. With steel light fixtures and "wire concoctions that seem right out of a lab," Five Leaves resembles "a bar that Thomas Edison might have built for his buddies," according to the review.

Veteran actor CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER suspects London's cold, damp night air contributed to the death of HEATH LEDGER on Tuesday (22Jan08). The 78-year-old was filming movie The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus with Ledger in the British capital last week (ends18Jan08). Plummer reveals that the Australian star was suffering from "walking pneumonia" and that Ledger was having trouble sleeping because they were filming the Terry Gilliam movie at night.
